Football predictions Cuba signed a historic agreement with MLB |

Major League Baseball (Major League Baseball), the Professional Players Association (MLBPA) and the National Federation of Cuba (FCB) have signed a historic agreement that will allow Cuban baseball players to legally and safely move to teams from the US and Canada. FCB becomes the fourth professional league to reach an agreement with Major League Baseball on the international transfer of players after Japan`s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) and the Taiwan Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Under the contract, the FCB agrees to allow all its competitors with at least 6 years of professional experience to join a Major League Baseball club after the age of 25. In its sole discretion, the league has the right to release younger players as well. Once released, every Cuban baseball player is free to negotiate with all 30 Major League clubs according fixed games . When concluding a transaction in the US or Canada, the Cuban Federation will receive a `transfer fee` calculated using the same formula used in relations with NPB, KBO and CPBL.
`For many years, Major League Baseball has been looking for a way to stem the illicit traffic of Cuban baseball players by creating a legitimate, reliable and safe alternative for these players, ` said league commissioner Rob Manfred. - We believe that this agreement is aimed atachieved, and it will allow future generations of Cuban baseball players to pursue their dream without undergoing the hard tests of their predecessors who have made it to Major League Baseball. `
MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark added: ` Establishing a safe andlegal proCess to enter our system is the most important step we can take to end the exploitation and life-threatening Cuban baseball players pursuing careers in Major League. The safety and health of these young men remains our primary concern. . `
