Rio Ferdinand commented on the results mentioned by record of fixed football games of the Ballon d`Or voting. The prize for the best footballer of the season according to France Football was awarded to Manchester City midfielder Rodri. Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior was second.
I think this is due to the fact that Spain won the Euros and the fact that Vinicius obviously didn`t play his best in the Copa America.
I`m not against Rodri winning. Rodri is a phenomenal footballer, I love him, I think he is the best midfielder in the world, the best director in football and I don`t mind him winning this title at all.
Personally, when I think of the Ballon d`Or, I prefer a player who is a maverick. About the one who makes you jump out of your seat, scream in the stadium or on the sofa at home. About who brings victory in the match, who changes the course of the game. That`s who I personally prefer.
But there is no point in saying that Rodri does not deserve this title because he is a phenomenal footballer, the former Manchester United defender said on TNT Sports.
