The Hall of Fame has released its official list of candidates for induction in 2025. Several NBA players were on the expanded list of candidates for the first time. Some of the most notable ones include Carmelo Anthony, Marc Gasol, Dwight Howard and Amar`e Stoudemire.
WNBA legends Sue Bird, Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles, NBA head coaches Doc Rivers and Billy Donovan are also nominated for the first time.
International nominees include Andrei Kirilenko, Vladimir Kondrashin, JR Holden, David Blatt, Dusan Ivkovic and Ettore Messina.
The next step after the announcement of the candidates will be the selection of finalists, which will take place on February 14 during the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco. The new Hall of Fame class will be announced April 5.
The Hall of Fame also approved reducing the nomination waiting period for player nominations from three full seasons to two.
